About the work

The drawing was started by placing it under an equally-sized piece of paper covered in transferable media. Using a blunt implement, in a sense ‘drawing blindly,’ I drew on its back surface at random. After removing the top sheet, I continued the drawing with colored pencils and pastel, using the ‘random’ transferred markings as a compositional armature. The result is an undersea libidinal scenario that has been reiterated for a few years in various media.
